Introduction

Troy Pettyjohn is a northern Colorado husband, father, life-long martial artist, and co-owner of Northern Colorado Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense. As a result of severe bullying in his childhood, he sought an outlet in martial arts. That introduction became a lifelong passion for Troy, and he currently holds 4 black belts in 4 different martial arts.Troy opens up about his journey and what it took to attain those black belts, as well as the adversity he faced along the way, including sustaining a serious head injury during a Golden Gloves boxing match. Troy also shares how he was eventually able to turn his passion for martial arts into a successful business, one that we own together, and talks about our business journey as well as the ups and downs of building and owning a business.
